Sesame Street Fandom uproar after "Cookie Monster" podcast about "paedophile"

RTÉ has changed the working title of a new podcast series about notorious paedophile Eamonn Cooke after a storm of protest – from fans of Sesame Street!

Initially RTÉ had the working title ‘Eamonn Cooke – Cookie Monster’ for its upcoming series on the pirate radio boss.

The name emerged during his 16-day trial at the Central Criminal Court in 2007 – at which he was found guilty of 42 charges of sexual assault.

It was reported that his victims named him “the Cookie monster”, given his tendency to ingratiate himself with prospective victims by offering them biscuits and sweets.
