Female urinals
Why are female urinals not as popular as male urinals? I would imagine a high number of females would prefer to use them. Has anyone got any thoughts on this subject?

Re: Female urinals
I think we just like more privacy. I went into a toilet once in a bar that had two female urinals and no one was using them. We just like more privacy when doing that.
Re: Female urinals
Well, there is different types of female urinals. It would actually make sense from a hygienic perspective. Anyway, the reason why I decided to make this point is actually from a personal experience. I was using a urinal when a woman came into the men's bathroom. I was the only one at the urinals at the time. She explained to me that the women's bathroom was full. She was very polite about it. I honestly had no problem with it. I apologize if you thought it was a strange question.

Boring answer, more women expect seperate stools. I don't see why women would be more uncomfortable urinating in front of one another than men unless it was culturally conditioned, but I doubt that's the case with women. With men, you might say there's insecurities over genital size, but what parallel is there for women? The only answer I've heard which makes sense is embarrassment over periods. I'm a cisgender male, so correct me if I'm wrong.

We are different, I know many women who can't do a poo in a public toilet, that's very common, but I know some who can't use a public toilet at all, there is a strange feeling of shame and exposure from using a toilet. It's the 21st century, we shouldn't feel this way but many do.PorcelainLark wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2026 1:29 am Boring answer, more women expect seperate stools. The idea of a urinal just wouldn't take off without a much wider change in how women feel about themselves. I don't poo in public, I couldn't do that, but I can do the other but I just accept that some friends can't and wouldn't. I do wonder where those feelings come from.
