Yes nothing can compare to the perfection of a baby or toddler, from their tiny hands all the way to the non judgemental love they give and everything in betweenNopi Balki wrote: Tue May 12, 2026 12:50 amLove what u say, i been always felt more connected to bbs and tots than people my age for the same reason u describe, they are so lovely.nepiguy wrote: Tue May 12, 2026 12:35 am It's so nice to find other nepi's in this lonely world, my aoa is newborns to 4. One of my favorite things about this age, they love being cuddled; whether it's lying next to you on the couch or using your chest as their pillow. One of the greatest feelings is a diapered baby sleeping on your bare chest (diapered for hygiene, I don't want pee or poop all over me
). That skin to skin contact is like nothing else. While the "normies" will say this is something only parents should do, I disagree. I don't think the baby would care if it is the parents or another loving adult, the effects would be the same (calming and beneficial to the baby).
I base this theory off the current cuddle programs that many hospitals already have in place. Volunteers spend a few hours a day cuddling different newborns (volunteer is wearing a hospital provided apron and baby is usually swaddled in a blanket for warmth). These babies often are ones that require care in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Studies have shown that babies who were part of this type of program often demonstrate greater growth, physiologic stability and have shorter hospital stays than babies who have not been cuddled. That the cuddling is vital to a child's emotional well being and it helps babies maintain developmental and social milestones. Many hospitals have a waiting list for volunteers as they have more volunteers than babies that need this type of care.

This volunteer opportunity sounds like a dream come true. But do they screen applicants before accepting volunteers? I’d love to sign up. Lol.

I am not sure what the exact screening process is, but I am almost certain it would involve a criminal/sex offender background check. I would also imagine there is a interview process. One of the hospitals in my area had a big cuddle program going until COVID. They scaled it back quite a bit and never have openings now.Pegasus wrote: Tue May 12, 2026 11:25 amCondemned wrote: Tue May 12, 2026 5:55 am One of my favorite things about this age, they love being cuddled; whether it's lying next to you on the couch or using your chest as their pillow. The list here isn't a complete one, but it does give a little more information. Research your local hospitals if this is something you want to do and feel there will not be any issues with a background check.
