It’s something I’ve been mulling over for a long time. I felt like I couldn’t take it anymore, so in the end I gave in and decided to tell my dad. A week ago, I told him, saying I had something to tell him, and he accepted it and told me he still loved me. It went better than I expected, and he hardly seemed to care, he just told me that as long as I don’t do anything wrong, I have nothing to worry about.
I gave him permission to tell my mom, and she was sad and worried for the first couple of days, but now she seems to be doing better, and we talk as if nothing happened. I was hesitating about whether to do this or not, but it was really taking a toll on me mentally, and I knew that at least my dad would accept me because he’s smart and open-minded. My mom asked me if I wanted to go to therapy, and I said yes because she could tell I was having a really hard time, but I don't know who would be willing to treat me.
