I've seen way too many people call children/teens pedos for being into shota/loli, like????? Doesn't make any sense, not that it's bad, but it doesn't make any sense??? They hate MAPs but want minors to be AAMs.

I was a 'pedo' when I was 12 (attracted to children). So I guess it makes sense, if this is what they mean.

I don't follow you here. How calling minors 'pedos' makes them AAMs. Or maybe I misunderstood...

Anyways, the issue to me is that they use 'pedo' just as an insulting word.

Yeah, you misunderstood, but I also should of added more context.
Basically people calling minors pedophiles because they saw someone their own age and/or kodacon art attractive, since they use pedo as an insult, it's implying they'd prefer the minor to be attracted to someone older, (which is what AAMs are). Hopefully that makes more sense.

OK yes, now I understand what you mean. Thanks for clarifying.

Contrary to popular belief, the word 'paedophile' was NOT created by the Ancient Greeks. The term as we know it today was defined and popularised by a German forensic psychiatrist in the 1896 edition of 'Psychopathia Sexualis' (literally 'Psychopathic Sexuality'). Knowing the problematic 'clinical' origins of its definition, I simply cannot understand why so many child lovers insist on using that term to identify themselves. It is NOT our term!
Pedophile has become so mainstream though, and i personally like the term it literally translates to 'lover of children". Pedo=child, phile=love.

Etymology
Origin of pedophile

First recorded in 1950–55; pedo- 1 + -phile, or directly from Greek paidóphilos “loving children”

Personally I use int in spite of this because it's like a slap in the face. You tried to make a word to make us sound bad, but it literally means to love children...so much for us pedophiles being "evil child abusers"....should have picked a better term dude LOL!
38, female. Writer, mediocre artist, and total sub!
Westernized society hates youth. MAPs are the cure. Youth are NOT slaves. They are our future and we must fight for their freedom.

Where are you seeing that the term was first recorded in 1950?? That seems a bit late, considering the psychiatric literature that was coming out in the early 1900s...

Yeah, there are a lot of MAPs who see it this way. Like black people 'reclaiming' the 'N-word.' Maybe if non-MAPs were stigmatised for using the 'P-word' word, then I would feel differently.

But as it stands, I think it's important to know just what people mean by the term 'paedophile' before advocating using it as a broad identifier. Because most normies mean that term as a child molestor.

So if someone asks, 'Are you a paedophile?' I would suggest asking how they define the term before just saying, 'Yes.' That's too easy of a trap to fall into at this point.
In the absence of a clear blueprint, a good imagination is essential.

Parents love children. Why do you identify with these literal words that at least to me, don't seem representative of what pedophilia is?
