Belmonte 50-year-old man arrested on suspicion of pedophilia

Investigation conducted by the Judicial Police was initiated following a complaint filed by a family member of the victim. Suspect will have practiced significant sexual acts against an 11-year-old child.

A 50-year-old man was arrested this week, in the municipality of Belmonte, on suspicion of having practiced significant sexual acts against an 11-year-old child, the Judicial Police (PJ) reported on Friday
In a statement, the PJ revealed that the investigation was initiated following a complaint filed by a family member of the victim.
"Insistently, whenever he met her, and over about half a year, the suspect approached the victim, chasing and grabbing her, even coming to practice significant sexual acts on her."

The suspect detained in Belmonte, in the district of Castelo Branco, was present to the judicial authorities and the coercive measure of removing the victim and a certain psychiatric evaluation was applied to him.
