Hello my hopeful friends
Hello my hopeful friends
New member, frequent , lurker in the open MAP community. I am a CL for many moons. My AoA is 6 to 13 , but I am not exclusive. I am pretty old, but have never taken an active hand in activism until now. I am motivated by the way the world is turning, as well as private stuff in my life. I have living in a morass of self-pity and fear for decades. I am less fearful now. Less to lose. I guess I am pro-C but am for following the laws of the land until they change or until they are so frail that they will break on their own. I believe in bodily autonomy for all, freedom of speech, and expression. I think laws that hamper those freedoms are immoral.

Welcome. What areas of activism are you interested in? Writing, research, law?
Three relatively accessible things you can do are submitting blogs to Mu, help with finding and archiving academic works relevant to MAPs, and finding and posting relevant news stories or social media mentions about MAPs.
If you have any ideas that are more specific for projects (e.g. surveys, stuff involving AI, academic literature reviews), people here might be able to help out as well.

Taking a break.

I think research and writing may be the way to go. I tried my hand at writing in HS and as well as being published in a few Zines. I am also a form avid D&D player, so maybe I can learn some strategy.

At the moment Outis and I are doing some A/B testing on how pro-MAP messages are received by the public (e.g. academic versus informal tones). If you can think of ideas to research, you can brainstorm them with people in the Theorycrafting section and look for help in the Serious Projects section.CLover36 wrote: Thu Mar 06, 2025 10:09 am I think research and writing may be the way to go. You can submit blogs to BlueRibbon here:

Also, maybe you could volunteer to help out people with proof reading and editing if you were interested.
I'm not sure about strategy, though I wrote a few ideas here:

In my opinion, I feel like it's still early days and we haven't quite figured out what is actually effective yet, which is why I thought the A/B testing would be a good idea.
Anyway, this is all very work orientated, you don't need to participate in those things if you don't want, there's some casual conversation in the General Map Discussion and Off-topic sections, as well as member support.
Taking a break.
