Paradise=Blight/Ambition

Post by Black Mirror »

- I know one day I soon will be dead

- The monsters growl; I see only red

- Poisoning my life; they fill me with dread

- Devour, destroy, obliterate

- Are you witnessing your fool, god?

- Is this not what you wanted me to see?

- To feel?

- To love?

- To mourn?

- To hate... you?

- Why did you do this to me?

- Why did you take her from my life?

- And leave me drowning in that self-loathing pit?

- Death came to claim me, and I welcomed it with opened arms

- But something intervened

- Something, Enraged

- Something, Hungry

- Something, Vengeful

- Something... Sad

- ...

- I only wish she was still here. I wish... we had a little more time together

β—‹ Aya, much like Allurus, was once a human conduit trying her best to create a better world but through a corrupted lens. She, like myself, was an abomination in her own way.

β—‹ In Aya's world, she would sing beautiful praises to The Choir from her lustrous gardens. She was kind, and always aided those in need and sought to bring out the good in people to which she believed we all had. [(TRAITOR!)]

Aya: Mati! 𝘎π˜ͺ𝘨𝘨𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘸π˜ͺ𝘡𝘩 π˜₯𝘦𝘭π˜ͺ𝘨𝘩𝘡. Mati! Oh, come on Mati. 𝘚π˜ͺ𝘨𝘩... I wonder where she is?

β—‹ Mati laid underneath a tree alongside the riverbed, for this was her typical place of rest in times of stress. Breaking through her concentration, she would soon hear her friend's calls but questioned if she should respond, for she simply wanted to be alone.

β—‹ But not wanting to be rude to her friend, she let out a long sigh before waving her hand out from behind the tree, which Aya soon noticed and began to cheer in delight as she ran to go greet her.

Aya: There you are, Mati! 𝘏𝘢𝘧𝘧, 𝘩𝘢𝘧𝘧. I've been looking everywhere for you. Should've figured you were here, haha! Are you okay?

β—‹ Mati looks up and smiles to see Aya's exhausted, yet jubilant face.

Mati: "Hey, Aya. I... I just wanted to get away from everything for a while. Are you okay? Was there something you needed from me?"

Aya: Oh, no, no, no, no... haha! I'm fine. You've just been gone for a while now, so I wanted to come check up on you.

Mati: "I'm fine, thank you Aya."

Aya: Is it okay if I join you?

β—‹ Mati hesitates to respond, but then briefly relinquishes her worries and nods.

β—‹ Aya sits close to Mati and rests her head upon Mati's shoulder while gently stroking her arm. Together, they relax in momentary silence as they gaze upon the beautiful scenery around them.

Aya: Are you worried about the war?

Mati: "...Who isn't? I fear one day it'll reach this place and destroy everything. I just want to see all of this while I still can; see it before... it's all gone."

Aya: As your conduit, I won't allow that to happen.

β—‹ Aya says this while rubbing her head into Mati's, but her affection is not reciprocated. Mati continues to stare at the scenery as a rage begins to build within her.

Aya: Mati?

Mati: "..."

Aya: ...

β—‹ Aya feels her friend's tension and lifts her head off Mati's shoulder as she removes her hand, returning both of them to her lap, and lets out a long sigh.

Aya: Do you blame me for this war?

β—‹ Mati does not respond. Her hands becoming tightly clenched fists to which Aya notices before returning to look back up at her.

Aya: Mati... I didn't mean for an-

Mati: "Don't, Aya. I don't... I don't blame you. I have never, nor will I ever blame you. I blame them."

Aya: ...The rebels?

Mati: "No, this cycleβ€”this terrible, terrible place."

Aya: Terrible?

Mati: "For all the beauty we have created, something always seems to come along to destroy it. Then, that thing creates beauty of its own, only to be preserved until the next cataclysm arrives. We have witnessed this cycle repeatedly, and yet we continue to perpetuate it. I... have perpetuated it."

Aya: It's not your fault, you were jus-

β—‹ Mati quickly turns her head to look at Aya for a moment as tears began to form in her eyes. She then shifts her head upwards to gaze into the sky through the swaying leaves and branches.

Mati: "Yes, I was just trying to make things better... haha! What a damn fool I was. Amidst that tempest, I raged. I screamed in indignation against the heavens, for they had forsaken us. We were their tools, their... food. And I... brought you all here, like lambs to the slaughter. I... passed this curse onto you, for in you, I saw a beautiful hope for this infernal place. But I deceived myself; I deceived you and condemned you to share this terrible fate, just like so many before us."

Aya: Mati... I will fix this. Somehow, in some way; I will make it better.

β—‹ Aya grabed Mati, for who now wept in regret, and embraced her.

β—‹ Mati finally reciprocates Aya's affection and cries even louder than before.

β—‹ So too did Aya's eyes begin to shed tears, but her eyes displayed determination.

Aya: I will make all of this right Mati, I promise.

β—‹ In the passing months, the war raged on. Aya's world was a utopia where no one had to suffer, and in so, humanity was free to explore the mysteries of the cosmos, and with it came an evolved consciousness.

β—‹ However, as humanity grew more aware of the true nature of their progress, hate was born, for it understood, despite all its beauty, it was an abomination. Civil wars erupted across the world between those wanting to progress despite everything else and those who had enough and simply wanted an end to what they believed was the enabling of madness.

β—‹ Both Mati and Aya would roam the world in search of potential conduits, and all the while, Aya wept as Mati struggled to comfort her. Mati knew this was the fate that befell all fools who believed themselves gods but were simply an inception of the cruel nature of existence.

β—‹ As they traversed, Aya felt great shame as she wanted so much more for everyone. She wanted what she never had before: a place to call home. Rage and depression enveloped her, and from that, she found him.

β—‹ Allurus, a rebel soldier, laid crippled amidst the rubble of a demolished building in a city now in ruins thanks to a loyalist bombardment.

β—‹ Aya and Mati float to his barely conscious body with nothing exposed but half of his face and a protruding arm reaching for a hope. His eye is bloodshot and worn, some of his fingers are missing, and he mumbles for help.

β—‹ Aya and Mati remove the rubble to reveal the rest of Allurus's crushed body.

Mati: "I don't think he's gonna make it Aya."

Aya: Will you help me try to save him?

Mati: "Of course, but why him?"

Aya: I can feel his pain–his rage, and I want him to make something better out of all this.

Mati: "...Are you sure?"

Aya: Absolutely.

β—‹ Together, they secure Allurus and take him back to their home.

β—‹ They lay him on a grass bed and begin to repair him. As they do this, Allurus sees Mati and reaches out to her.

Allurus: ...C-la-ir?

Mati: "No, I'm sorry. I'm not Clair."

β—‹ Allurus regains some of his senses and questions the two about his whereabouts.

Allurus: Wh-ere a-m I?

Mati: "You're at our home/playground."

Aya: I'm Aya, and this is Mati. Do you know who you are?

Allurus: Al-lur-us...

Mati: "It'll take some time, but we're gonna help you, Allurus, okay? I'll be right back; I'm going to go fetch you some water."

β—‹ Allurus slowly nods and thanks her.

β—‹ As Mati leaves, Allurus stares at Aya as she continues to heal his body.

Allurus: Th-ank y-ou...

Aya: Don't try to force yourself to do anything. Your body was beat up pretty bad.

Allurus: D-do you kn-ow, wh-ere my daugh-ter Clair is?

Aya: I'm sorry Allurus, I don't know.

Allurus: Wh-ere are my com-rades?

Aya: I couldn't sense any other life except yours in that rubble; I'm sorry for that too. I'm sorry for all of this.

Allurus: Wh-at?

Aya: Don't worry about it right now, just try to save your energy.

β—‹ Mati returns with water, fresh pillows and sheets, along with a change of clothes.

Mati: "Here's some water and there's some clothes here too if you want. Sorry if they don't fit, they're staff uniforms."

β—‹ Allurus nods in gratitude.

β—‹ Aya finishes the restoration and asks Mati if they can speak in private.

Mati: "What is it Aya?"

Aya: When he is well, shall we perform harmonic convergence with him?

Mati: "Do you think he'll want that?"

Aya: He was a rebel, and I believe he still has the will to fight in him. I can feel it.

Mati: "Do you truly want to continue perpetuating this cycle? Do really think he'll fair better than you?

Aya: I have a hope/gamble for when the time comes, he will do what is righteous/abominable for the well-being of us all.

β—‹ Mati's eyes glow momentarily.

Mati's: "Okay, Aya. I am but your reflection now, and it is my love=obligation that will aid you in fulling your dream."

Aya: Thank you Mati.

Mati: "Do not thank me, Aya, for I know this will not end well for either of us, but you're welcome. Hmhm."

β—‹ Mati kisses Aya on her lips and rests her forehead against hers.

Mati: "Together till the end, right partner?"

Aya: 𝘎π˜ͺ𝘨𝘨𝘭𝘦𝘴. Always.

- Sing with me a song of woe

- For all the ones we've come to know

- Their laughter, their pain

- Their thoughtless caressing upon our cheeks

- Their soft kisses upon our lips

- Their warm bodies, opening our hearts

- But I simply wish to be made no more

- For despite all that I have endured

- No suffering has been greater than the loss of of my joy

- Sing with me a song of woe

- for the bastard, for the hoe

- This mad world has broken us all

- And now admist that tempest we shattered fools fall

- There is no light here; there is no care; only the broken memories of those we've been forced to bear

- But to abandon them, would en masse an endless void

- Never satisfied, never whole

- Sing with me a song of joy

- For we are all simply god's new toy

- Sing with me a song of hate

- We're coming god, to break heaven's gate

- Your flesh will be our home

- Your tears will be our soul

- Your mind; our prison

- Your love; our hell

- Yet despite all this, you simply watch

- And observe
