After a short discussion among MAP Forum's mods, we have concluded that long posts composed mainly of quotes from papers and articles, should:
A) Use proper quotations and styling, to indicate that they are indeed separate quotes (from each other and from the author's voice)
B) Use spoiler tags in our editor and explain the purpose of each post and what is behind the tags.
C) Be fully compliant with copyright law and fair use. In other words, quote only the salient parts of an article or articles, forming more or less part of a "constructive anthology" and not copypasta that might only be useful to the writer.
The main reason for this is to encourage discussion and be kind to our users.
Users consistently ignoring these guidelines will be having their contributions deleted with increasing frequency and may be fast-banned if we do not have adequate moderator cover to filter through this information and vet it as part of our standard content mod.
The rules will not be changed, these are guidelines for users who are also researchers.
