Online ‘Pedophile Hunters’ Are Growing More Violent — and Going Viral

New York Times just did an investigation of pred hunter groups, with many quotable bits.

It would be worthwhile, I feel to paint the MAP community as an enemy of these groups to give it some free publicity.

A few years ago, I had a few users who wanted Newgon to do this by naming and shaming them, but I quickly determined they were not forensic enough in their approach to become bona-fide Newgon eds, because they were motivated by their hate of vigilantes rather than the potential of making our community more relevant via counterintelligence efforts.

I may go ahead and classify DAP as an Yesmap-designated extremist group on the basis of this report. I assume it's accurate, and the violence is confirmed if NYT is making those claims, right?
