Dipping my toes back into the community after some time. When I was younger I spent a lot of time on forums speaking to older men about their and my attractions, but when I turned 18 I kind of turned my back on the community. I felt like the risk wasn't worth the reward. Soon after the site got taken down anyway so I always felt justified in that departure and turned to a more isolated approach to discovering my identity. I seem to recall the majority of interactions back then were like a release valve of emotions about attraction specifically. Lots of discussions about what attracted them and hoping to hear others agree with them so that they felt less alone. An important aspect of community, but it got tired after a while. I wanted more. But, when I flipped through the forum here out of idle curiosity what I found feels like a more self aware community than I recall from my teenage years. Discussions about politics, ethics, and more sincere emotions too. In general I've stumbled into an adult life of activism in general and - I don't know - if there's a way to expand my reach to aid the first, no second marginalized group I was ever intimately involved with then I'd find a lot of comfort in that. (The first of course being a child. Perhaps the most oppressed group in our society.) Anyway, looking forward to sifting through some of your political views on here and seeing if I can use those thoughts to expand my own.
