Child molesters and governments across the world

Why is it that whenever there are cases of child molestation, sensationalization of it in the media and public outcry...
More often than not the perpetrator is killed and later they make it sound as if he killed himself or was killed in a fight while in custody? Whenever the case has the potential to topple governments.

I'm not talking about consensual relationships which MAPs have with kids. Just people molesting little kids.

I want to know the history of it. Like since when child molesters became such a big threat to people in power.

Throughout all of Judeo-Christian-Islamic history, sexual deviance has always been seen as the greatest evil. I'd say it's not so much a threat to people in power, it's more like a tool. A very easy and very effective tool for gaining public support for whatever agenda they want to push and slander whatever enemies they want to condemn. It's also very safe as the accusation is impossible to disprove, and no one at that level has ever been prosecuted for falsely accusing another of sexual deviancy.

A great example is with the Knights Templar in the early 1300s. They were a highly respected order of knights beloved by the people for defending pilgrims on the road to Jerusalem and other charitable things. As such they amassed quite a lot of popularity and wealth over the years. Their public image took a hit when the Crusades didn't go too well. King Phillipe IV of France, who had long envied their popularity and wealth, seized this opportunity to crush this precieved rival by simply accusing them of sodomy. This was very effective. The people turned on the knights lightning quick and so no one defended them when the king had them publicly executed and took all their stuff.

Nowadays, politicians can say "We're protecting our children from evil predators" in order to push literally whatever agenda they want. Like they UK saying their going to randomly scan the phone of whoever they want when they pass through the UK's borders. A thing that I'm sure would normally not be accepted at all by the public. But because they say they're doing it to "protect children" and "catch predators", then everybody is just fine with it. And anyone who dares question it must be a pedophile themselves.

Part of the reason I believe PIM (Prohibited Images of Minors) should be legalized, in terms of possession, is so governments can't use that excuse as freely to mandate spyware on everyones devices/backdoors in encryption. NCMEC and IWF are notorious for believing the only solution to "CSAM" is removing E2EE (End-to-End Encryption) so they can monitor all chats. Nevermind that most children/teens feel uncomfortable with big brother watching their every message and likely would move to platforms that don't give a rats ass what some government requires.

Encryption with a backdoor is no longer encryption, that's my view of it too.
