Hello all. I'm a (currently unemployed) man in his early 40s with a penchant for birdwatching, gardening, and reading novels. I used to work as a librarian up until recently. I've been aware of my identity my whole life, though I only truly began to understand myself when I was around 35, which is when I discovered the MAP community online. Until this point, I was not aware of the term "MAP" or the fact that my sexuality was - in fact - perfectly natural and healthy. Up until that point, the wool had been thoroughly over my eyes, and I hated myself. I pretended I was someone I was not, and it was killing me.
I began to frequent various sites and wikis to learn more, and one by one I felt my personal insecurities and self-hatred fade away. I'm now perfectly happy and proud of who I am. I've recently signed up to the fedi, and aim to have a "public"-ish presence, so that I may connect with like minded individuals. I've always deeply desired a sense of community, and now I feel as though I have finally found it. So hello, everyone!

Librarian, well that is very interesting. I bet you have some tales to tell about that.
Remember, MAP is just a term used online in the community, because it implies guidance, a way forward.
Child-Friendliness is the new PC term.
I am glad you are here Paul morris.
