Everyone thinks they understand MAPs

I made a response to another topic and I though it was also worth it's own topic.
Have you noticed that most everyone assume they know exactly what goes on in MAPs heads?
Whether it's the ones that think we are grooming predators wanting to exert power or those who think all MAPs are MAPs because they were abused as a kid or those who think all MAPs are pervs. Everyone think they are an expert on MAPs when they never talked to one. And why would they? We are silenced, not allowed to have a voice. We are not allowed to speak so everyone puts their words in our mouth.
The truth is, we aren't a monolyth, we are as diverse as straight people or gay people and our attraction doesn't work much different.

They think they know what's going on because the bad ones are usually the ones to make the news so people make assumptions. We can't speak out, like you mentioned, without risking a serious threat to our livelihoods and reputations. So we often opt to staying silent.

That is what happens when you suppress and censor an entire group of people from ever speaking to defend themselves.
