Were you really a victim? Really??

Post by Jim Burton »

Given she has admitted her own guilt to engaging in the communications, it would appear the victim's public statements about this man are rooted in her disgust towards her own behavior - engaging with a "29 year old" man, when she was just a teen. Something she did consciously, for her own gratification, after all - thinking it was OK at the time.

This kind of posturing does nothing to serve the needs of actual victimized girls and children, in fact, it undermines them. It just makes her look like a bully, and this man look like a victim, or pathetic liar at worst.

The guy never fucking touched you, so that is the extent of what you know first-hand about him. "Never see the sun again"... really?

A teenage victim of a man who groomed several girls on Snapchat has said she felt "sick" when she learnt of the extent of his offending.

Olivia, not her real name, said Paul Lipscombe should "never see the sun again" for his crimes, and blames herself for “letting this all happen”.

She was 15 years old when she was contacted by Paul Lipscombe from Rothley, Leicestershire. He was sentenced to 28 years at Leicester Crown Court after pleading guilty to 34 offences against six girls.

She felt sick only when she "learned the extent of his offending"... in other words, she felt sick that she got cheated on. That's what that feeling is, and she's being told it's something else.
