80 year old CSO suffers the indignity of dieing after fall from County Durham toilet

A child sex offender was pronounced dead after falling off the toilet in his County Durham prison cell, an inquest heard.

Douglas Clayton was seven years into his 22 year prison sentence at HMP Frankland when he suddenly died in his cell on December 22, 2024.

The 80-year-old, who was jailed for historic offences from the 1970s, was said to have been suffering from a number of health issues, causing a "slow decline" in his health.
