U.S. District Judge James Hendrix told a 38-year-old Lamesa man that given the evidence before him, he didn't believe that he didn't use the child-sized sex dolls agents found in his home during a child-pornography investigation.
Andrew Burdett Moore appeared before Hendrix for a Jan. 22 sentencing hearing during which, the judge referenced messages Moore made in chatrooms in which he shared his fantasies about sexually abusing children.
During the hearing, Moore's attorney, Dan Hurley, he told the court that his client's statements about sexually abusing children were a way to obtain more materials depicting child sexual abuse and not actual admissions. In fact, Hurley told the court that investigators spoke with the children in Moore's life and found no evidence of actual sexual abuse.
"In fact, several of them praised him for how good he was to them," Hurley said.
