Why does almost all AI have a minor filter?
It's not secret that I'm a furry, so was trying to do some spicy cub roleplay and living out weird fantasies with ai chat bots....but it's like every single time you mention a character is under 18 the chatbot goes "no, I will not create sexule roleplay with character under 18 that's a hard line" or whatever.
I mean I believe rp with any character you want is covered by the 1st amendment so I don't think I'm doing anything wrong admitting this it's just.......weird. you'd think you'd want so called "evil pedos" to have a actual outlets for this stuff which ai chat bots could be GREAT for........
I mean I think we all know the answer as to why.....we live in an age of moral grandstanding, public outcry and media and social media attention if they did not censor these bots in a certain way it just seems fucking ABSURD to me how they restrict these chat bots in such a way as well as mainstream search engines block Loli results (art aka pixels on a screen that harm no one).
As said a lot of this is a somewhat healthy outlet yet for fap content and god DAMN theirs some mainstream AI bots that are good at rp....too bad these corpos neuter them in the interest of "moral grandstanding, and advertiser friendly" etc etc..
And yes I do know that ANY erotic content involving fictional characters under the adult age in certain places in europe is illegal.....as well as they can nail you with "obscenity laws" here in some cases even with it being technically protected content.
Thoughts?

You can use a local LLM, but you need to have a PC with a pretty beefy graphics card to do so. At least for the decent models.

I've watched communities whip up a moral panic over under 18, completely fictional AI characters existing, and them thanking chatbot hosts for putting a stop to them. It's driven less by legislation than trying to appear morally upstanding for their customer base, especially when AI is under scrutiny for other reasons, mainly for environmental, educational, and privacy-related concerns. I hate it.

I have ran local LLM,s but since it does not have an infinite cloud base to pull information from every single one I have used has SUCKED gives weird results or you type something to it and it goes on a random tangent about something unrelated.Kierkegaard wrote: Sun Aug 30, 2026 5:22 pm You can use a local LLM, but you need to have a PC with a pretty beefy graphics card to do so. Yup, I just saw a supreme court judge rule that sexual AI images of children should remain legal and the amount of wood chipper comments was insane.Scorchingwilde wrote: Sun Aug 30, 2026 5:28 pm I've watched communities whip up a moral panic over under 18, completely fictional AI characters existing, and them thanking chatbot hosts for putting a stop to them. hell lolicon back in the early 2000's didn't get NEAR this much hate (though their were still people very much against it) the general rule was that "welp better lolicon than the real deal" and people left it at that. It feels like in this more developed digital age people are just fucking foaming at the mouth over stupid shit and going batshit insane, picking weird hills to die on etc.

Unfortunately it's not limited to us or the increased communication of the digital age, it's at least in part a symptom of the economic status of middle and working class people in the anglosphere. I expect terrorism of all kinds, not limited to any specific political group, to be amplified over the next few decades, which makes MAP activism that much more difficult and dangerous.Theendoftheline wrote: Sun Aug 30, 2026 5:56 pmYup, I just saw a supreme court judge rule that sexual AI images of children should remain legal and the amount of wood chipper comments was insane.Scorchingwilde wrote: Sun Aug 30, 2026 5:28 pm I've watched communities whip up a moral panic over under 18, completely fictional AI characters existing, and them thanking chatbot hosts for putting a stop to them. Our mere existence makes them uncomfortable. It's really pathetic of them, and sucky for us, but I've seen it with other identities. Trust me, I've seen people freak out enough over transgender character video game options ("FUCKIN PRONOUNS" if anyone remembers) or gender neutral bathrooms that it's clear most people are uncomfortable with us not being eradicated.Theendoftheline wrote: Sun Aug 30, 2026 7:31 pmBut its literally not hurting ANYONE so it...confuses me.Scorchingwilde wrote: Sun Aug 30, 2026 5:28 pm I've watched communities whip up a moral panic over under 18, completely fictional AI characters existing, and them thanking chatbot hosts for putting a stop to them. Sounds like you're assuming the goal of all of this is to protect people from harm. Rookie mistake.Theendoftheline wrote: Sun Aug 30, 2026 7:31 pm But its literally not hurting ANYONE so it...confuses me.

I always ask that stuff even though I know what the real reason is. I just can't wrap my head around, people caring so much about shit that don't affect their lives in the slightest.
