Something is wrong with the view counter for posts

The one thing I noticed is that with the view counter for posts, it recounts you as a view even though you already viewed it. For example, one person can get the view counter from 0 to hundred just from re-clicking the post and exiting it out. Can this be fixed?

I think that’s always been the case with forum software?

Nope, websites like Facebook, X, and reddit has view counters and only counts 1 view per different user and that's it. If you are the same user viewing the same page again, it does not count it.
