The operation is the first of the Digital Observation and Analysis Center, created by the Public Security Department to combat criminals on the internet.

A teenager from Descalvado (SP) was apprehended this Friday (29) in an operation by the Civil Police against a criminal organization that practices pedophilia and virtual rapes.

Operation Nix, launched by the Homicide and Personal Protection Department (DHPP) this morning, aims to arrest those involved in a series of crimes against minors.

In addition to Descalvado, the operation is taking place in Pernambuco, Bahia, Minas Gerais and the Federal District.

The operation is the first of the Digital Observation and Analysis Center (NOAD), created by the Public Security Department (SSP) to combat criminals who use the internet, on platforms such as Discord and Telegram.

Warrants

Two temporary arrest warrants, four arrest warrants against teenagers and 10 search and seizure warrants were served. In São Paulo, the target was a teenager from Descalvado, identified as one of the owners of the group under investigation.
The other owner of the group was arrested in Pernambuco. His father was also arrested, since the bank accounts that received the money from the sale of child pornography were in his name. The other teenagers were arrested in Minas Gerais and the Federal District.
In addition to committing virtual rapes and distributing sexual content with minors, those involved also induce victims to self-harm and even commit suicide. They are also suspected of being masterminds of attacks on schools.
"Fighting these internet criminals is a challenge for the police. These are not criminals who frequent drug dealing spots and carry weapons. These are people who lead apparently normal lives, but who commit the most terrible crimes against children on the internet," highlights the Secretary of Public Security, Guilherme Derrite.
"The great advantage of today's operation was being able to gather enough evidence to frame the criminals as part of a criminal organization. These criminals never act alone; they participate in groups where there is even a competition to see who can commit the most crimes, as if they were trophies in a game."

The decree that establishes the Digital Observation and Analysis Center was also published this Friday in the State Official Gazette.

The group, formed by members of the Civil, Military and Technical-Scientific police, will monitor social networks, forums and platforms such as Telegram and Discord.

The investigations will serve to identify criminals who act in the virtual environment, whether in organized crime actions or by enticing children and adolescents. The group will also monitor groups that plan attacks on schools.

After identifying those involved, the center will prepare detailed reports that will support police operations to serve the warrants.

"The creation of this center is a necessity in today's world. Many criminals have migrated to the digital environment, where they have the illusion of impunity provided by the supposed anonymity of the internet. But our police are on alert to prevent the proliferation of these virtual criminals, whose actions have terrible consequences in the lives of these victims," ​​concludes Derrite.
