Teacher is preventively arrested after suspicion of pedophilia in Marau

A man suspected of rape of a vulnerable person and sexual harassment of children and adolescents was arrested on Monday afternoon (02). The preventive arrest warrant was served by the local Civil Police, in the Antônio Carlos Oltramari subdivision, near the Parque Municipal de Rodeios.

According to preliminary information, the suspect is a 34-year-old teacher. The case, which has been under investigation for over two months, culminated in his arrest after several complaints received, including through the Education Department of the municipality of Marau. According to police chief Norberto Rodrigues, who spoke to Vang FM, the man had already worked in several educational institutions in the municipality.

After the legal proceedings, the suspect will be sent to the Passo Fundo Regional Prison, where he remains at the disposal of the justice system.
