Re: Pedophilia in Ancient Greece and Rome
Your post titled; “Pedophilia in Ancient Greece and Rome” suggest pedophilia practice was some rare occurrence in human or European history. However, the historical evidence shows that the puberty is considered as the sexual maturity for girls and got married around 12 to 13, was quite common in almost all ancient human societies in the past which is pedophilia under modern laws. You can read it in this forum link https://forum.map-union.org/viewtopic.php?t=1694 Titled:

It always disappoints me when they use "pedophilia" to refer to attraction to 12-16 year olds. I get excited that they're going to be able to shed light on the history of actual pedophilia, but then it inevitably turns out to be about early marriage and pederasty.mrlolicon93 wrote: Sat May 03, 2025 10:52 am Found this interesting article.

The history of actual pedophilia has been censored and some of it even lost to time because they don't want people to know the truth.PorcelainLark wrote: Thu May 08, 2025 11:08 amIt always disappoints me when they use "pedophilia" to refer to attraction to 12-16 year olds. I think to certain extent it goes to show how common hebephilia is. Implicitly, most people are attracted to 12-14 year olds. That's why "pedophiles" are almost always portrayed as hebephiles in the media. I can believe the average person has imaginative resistance to seeing prepubescents as sexual, but not tweens.mrlolicon93 wrote: Sat May 17, 2025 6:46 am The history of actual pedophilia has been censored and some of it even lost to time because they don't want people to know the truth.
I think if you looked at the age distribution of female minors portrayed in films and TV, the major would be between 12 and 17, and the number would plummet once you go below 12. Just as the disabled person is always the most attractive they can be, or the nerd is the most attractive they can be, minors are likewise made to be physically appealing to the audience. Even the so-called "subversion" in Big Mouth is suspect to me; "we're scared other people will sexualize our characters." Yeah, right. The writers know what makes tweens are attractive and are just trying to show off how much they're not "pedophiles."
